Chocolate truffles - recipe

Chocolate truffles are a delicious and indulgent delight. Here's the basic recipe for making them.

Ingredients:

  • 225 grams of finely chopped dark chocolate
  • 120 ml of heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons of room temperature butter
  • cocoa powder, powdered sugar, or other coatings (optional),
  • flavors or fillings (optional), such as liqueur, extracts, nuts, or dried fruit.

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the cream over medium heat, but do not let it boil.
  2. Remove the cream from the heat and pour the chopped chocolate into it. Let it sit for about 2-3 minutes, gently stir until all chocolate pieces are melted. If you want to add flavors or fillings like liqueur, extracts, nuts, or dried fruit, mix them in at this point.
  3. Cut the butter into small pieces and add them to the chocolate mixture. The butter should melt completely, and the mixture should be smooth. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 2 hours. Once the mixture is firm enough, you can shape it into balls.
  4. Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Using a spoon, scoop small amounts of the chocolate mixture and roll them into balls about 2-3 cm in diameter between your palms. If desired, roll the truffles in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, chopped nuts, sprinkles, or any other coating of your choice.
  5. Cover the finished truffles and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up before serving. If there are any leftovers, you can store them in a covered container in the refrigerator.

These homemade chocolate truffles are a decadent treat, easy and quick to make. They are just the right size and consistency for a bite-sized indulgence without making a mess. They will be a hit at casual gatherings, picnics, and anywhere you don't want to fuss with dishes and serving. They can also make a wonderful personalized gift.
