Among the many sweet delicacies that delight us with their taste and simplicity of preparation, apple crumble ranks among the favorite choices. This dessert classic is popular for its delicate combination of fresh apples, sugar and crunchy crumb, creating a perfect harmony of textures and flavors. Ingredients that we often already have in our kitchen are combined into a delicious dish that warms us in the colder months or cheers us up at any other time of the year.
Ingredients for the dough:
- 35g of oatmeal
- 35g of wholemeal flour
- 20g of sugar
- 35g of butter
For the apple filling:
- 400g of peeled, pitted and sliced apples
- 50g of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of water
Preparation:
- Heat the oven to 190°C.
- Peel and cut the apples into slices.
- Place the apples in a pot and cook for 5 minutes in sweetened water at a low temperature.
- Place the apples in a non-burning container.
- Sift the flour and oatmeal into a bowl and mix well. Add pieces of butter or margarine. Knead well by hand to get a crumbly texture. Add more sugar and mix well again.
- Cover the apples with the crumbly mixture.
- Bake for about 20 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to the baked crumb and you get the most yum dessert there is. ;)
