THAT'S MY MORNING ROUTINE. WHAT'S YOURS?

Mornings in my household are far from serene. There's no gentle awakening to the tunes of birds outside my window or the calming aroma of freshly bloomed flowers. Instead, my mornings are a whirlwind of chaos, coffee, and a whole lot of love. As a writer working from home, a housewife, and a mother of two energetic schoolboys, my mornings are a blend of loud chaos and the comforting ritual of that first morning coffee in an attempt to have it all together.

6:30 AM: The Wake-Up Call And Managing the Mayhem

The kids are usually already awake (at least I'm spared the task of waking them up), and we're off to a hectic start to get their day going for school. There's a rush in the bathroom, competing to remember what else needs to be packed for school, obligatory discussions about the weather, how to dress appropriately, and so on. The youngest is ravenously hungry and wants to eat goodness knows what, taking all the time in the world chatting along, while the oldest resists eating anything at all and can't wait to hop on his bike and be gone... In the last few moments before my husband takes the youngest to school, we barely have a chance to exchange a few words and coordinate our responsibilities, decide what to cook for dinner, who will go to the store, and the like. By the time they all go out the door, I'm slightly frazzled. Still, I hug them tight and wish them a good day at school and work with a mix of relief and a twinge of guilt, wondering if we could have done better managing those rushed moments.

7:30 AM: Embracing the Writer?s Life

As I close the door, I instantly open all windows for a few minutes. I take a deep breath and comfort myself by making a cup of coffee. I rotate between black Turkish coffee and Italian espresso. They are both strong and flavorful options, and I make sure to drink a lot of water during the day. As it gurgles, I take a moment to breathe in the aroma. The first sip is nothing short of heavenly, a warm hug to my tired soul.

For some time now, I have been practicing intermittent fasting, and I don't eat anything until 10 am, I only drink one coffee. This routine suits me very well. In my whole life, I was never hungry in the morning, and making myself eat breakfast wasn't something I was looking forward to. The idea that breakfast is the most important meal of the day is a common belief, but it doesn't apply universally to everyone. So I appreciate that there is no pressure to eat or decide what to eat. This way, I have time to concentrate on my work and tasks for the day.

First, I check my calendar for any pending tasks that need to be completed. Afterward, I look up statistics about the success of my posts. If the statistics are good, it gives me even more motivation to dive into writing stories and brainstorm ideas for future ones. I'm not a fan of excessive promotion on social media platforms like InstagramFacebook, and TikTok due to their unpredictability and often overwhelming nature. However, as I delve deeper, the challenge of trying different approaches while staying true to my simplistic style becomes enjoyable.

It's not always easy; there are moments of creator's block, endless revisions, and the constant lure of social media. But amidst it all, there's a sense of fulfillment in weaving stories from the chaos of my mind.

So, here's to imperfectly perfect mornings!

My morning routine might not be Pinterest-perfect, but it's uniquely mine. It's a blend of spilled cereal, school runs, and the comforting aroma of coffee. It's a reminder that life is messy, but there's beauty in the chaos. As a writer, housewife, and mother, my mornings are a testament to the juggling act that is my life. And through it all, that morning coffee remains my constant companion, a warm reminder that amidst the chaos, there's always a moment of calm and a chance to create something beautiful.
